Sebastian Ofner

Sebastian Ofner has been one of Austria’s most successful tennis players for many years. Born in Styria, he started playing tennis at the age of six. Initially, he also played football before deciding at the age of ten to focus on tennis. After achieving his first successes on the ITF Futures Tour, he made his international breakthrough in 2017.

At his Grand Slam debut at Wimbledon, Ofner battled his way through qualifying and reached the third round, causing a stir with a five-set victory over then world No. 18 Jack Sock. Later that same year, he reached his first ATP Tour semi-final in Kitzbühel.

After several injury setbacks, Ofner made his breakthrough into the international elite in 2023. At the French Open in Paris, he came through qualifying to reach the round of 16 and entered the Top 100 of the ATP rankings for the first time. In early 2024, he achieved a career-high ranking of world No. 37. A few months later, he reached his first ATP Tour final at the Mallorca Championships and represented Austria at the Olympic Games in Paris.

Following further injury-related breaks, Ofner once again demonstrated his quality and fighting spirit. In 2026, he celebrated a successful comeback by winning two consecutive ATP Challenger titles.

With his powerful game, strong backhand and determination, Sebastian Ofner has established himself as a leading figure in Austrian tennis and made a name for himself on the international tour.
