Tournament director and e|motion CEO Herwig Straka offered the numerous guests (e.g.: Günther Weninger, Erste Bank; Thomas Meixner, WEV; Matthäus Zelenka, Wiener Stadthalle; Peter Gauss, RADO Österreich; Thomas Schweda, ÖTV) a quick overview of how preparations for this year’s tournament, which will be held from 22-30 October 2022, are progressing. Guests had the opportunity to take pictures with this trophy and the one for the winner of the Erste Bank Open during the event.
Next, managing director Dominik Beier told the crowd about some innovations, which will be implemented on the ATP tour level, as well as the tournament level. There will once again be the second match and practice court “Tennis 2 Go” at the premises of the Wiener Eislaufverein at the Heumarkt. Furthermore, the in Vienna omnipresent topic “culture” will be integrated into the tournament even more, starting with a co-operation with Art Vienna.
Rounding things out was Do&Co head Attila Dogudan, whose catering service was also responsible for the evening’s culinary support, presenting the new VIP club concept for the Erste Bank Open 2022. This is visually and culinary based not only on tournament venue Vienna, but also the four Grand Slam tournament cities Melbourne, Paris, London and New York.
