Erste Bank Open shine with top line-up

Jannik Sinner leads a top line-up featuring six top ten players. Tournament director Herwig Straka also announced further innovations for the ATP 500 tournament.

The Erste Bank Open 2025 promises tennis at the very highest level. At a press conference on September 8, it was confirmed that Jannik Sinner will compete in Vienna from October 18–26. The South Tyrolean fan favorite, who lifted the trophy in 2023, will return to the Wiener Stadthalle for the sixth time and once again headline Austria’s biggest tennis stage.

There is also great news for Austrian fans: Sebastian Ofner and Filip Misolic have been awarded wildcards for the main draw. Both players have impressed with their performances in recent seasons, and Tournament Director Herwig Straka emphasized that their inclusion is both deserved and important for showcasing local talent at the home event.

The provisional entry list highlights the event’s international standing: six Top-10 players have already confirmed, including Sinner, Alexander Zverev, Jack Draper, Alex de Minaur, Lorenzo Musetti, and Karen Khachanov. Added to this are stars such as Daniil Medvedev, Andrey Rublev, Tommy Paul, Frances Tiafoe, and rising Italian Flavio Cobolli – ensuring another truly world-class field in Vienna.

A major innovation this year is the new Marx Halle as a second match location. Fans will not only be able to enjoy competitive matches on two courts, but also watch the pros practice up close. A special highlight is the wheelchair tennis tournament featuring global stars such as Alfie Hewett, Gordon Reid, and Austria’s own “Playing Ambassador” Nico Langmann, showcasing inclusion and world-class sport at the same time.

The Erste Bank Open is also expanding its off-court entertainment. Highlights include the brand-new Clubbing at Studio F, the Ö3 Silent Disco Tennis Edition in the Marx Halle, the PADEL CLASH, and a special Super-Fan Day during the Opening Weekend. Popular side events like the Champions of Vienna merchandise collection, the Rado ProAm, and the Magic Moments in the City activation on Rathausplatz will also return in 2025.

Beyond sport and entertainment, the event underlines its social and innovative dimension. Erste Bank, celebrating 15 years as title sponsor, continues to create unique fan experiences with the #glaubandich Fans & Players Zone, exclusive upgrades like the Erste Bank Fan Box, and sustainable initiatives such as the “Ace for Trees” project – already resulting in more than 26,000 trees planted.
