BOSS OPEN 2025 a resounding success

Tournament director Edwin Weindorfer, Daniel Grieder, CEO of HUGO BOSS AG, and Georg Kauffeld, 1st chairman of TC Weissenhof, give a positive assessment of the BOSS OPEN in Stuttgart, which had prize money totaling €751,630.

In sporting terms, the singles final between Germany's number one Alexander Zverev (ATP ranking 3) and BOSS brand ambassador Taylor Fritz (USA/ATP 7) meant that, for only the third time in the tournament's long history, two stars from the top ten in the world rankings faced each other. Previously, this had been the case in 1981 between Björn Borg and Ivan Lendl, and in 1996 between Thomas Muster and Yevgeny Kafelnikov.

Tournament director Edwin Weindorfer commented on this fact in a correspondingly cheerful mood: "I've organized 50 or 60 ATP tournaments, but this was the first time for me that the top four seeds were in the semifinals. The final between the current number three in the world rankings (Alexander Zverev) and the number four in the live rankings (Taylor Fritz) is the sporting highlight of this year's BOSS OPEN," said Weindorfer, who was also pleased with the increase in visitor numbers. “We welcomed 54,000 spectators to Weissenhof, which is a slight increase of 1,000 fans compared to last year.”

During the tournament week, the contract extension with title sponsor BOSS was announced for five years until 2030. "With BOSS, we have the best title sponsor you could wish for. We are proud to have extended the cooperation for the long term. This will allow us to further develop the tournament together and set new accents,“ explained Weindorfer. When asked whether Alexander Zverev will also compete at Weissenhof in the coming years, the tournament director replied: ”We haven't had any discussions about that yet, but he feels totally at home here. He loves Stuttgart and was there with his whole family. I will sit down with his management at Wimbledon to discuss the future."

Daniel Grieder highlighted the numerous innovations at the TC Weissenhof facility, which have led to visitors staying longer at the tournament. "It was a wonderful week, almost like a vacation at TC Weissenhof. I would like to thank the organizer e|motion, TC Weissenhof, and our BOSS team for this – and last but not least, the players who took to the main stage. We saw some great, exciting tennis here. I am incredibly happy that our brand ambassador Taylor Fritz and crowd favorite Alexander Zverev reached the final. This means that a wish I had at the beginning of the tournament has come true."

Georg Kauffeld emphasized that with BOSS coming on board as title sponsor, the ATP grass court highlight in Stuttgart has literally made a quantum leap. "This has marked a turning point for the tournament and is also reflected in the response from the spectators. The fans are all happy and go home in the evening with a smile on their faces."

The next edition of the BOSS OPEN will take place from June 6 to 14, 2026, at Stuttgart's Weissenhof.
